Do. Walk. Love. Award

Don Welch builds, he shows up, he embodies the exhortation to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly. 

This year’s recipient of the Do. Love. Walk. Award honors the person who has embodied doing, loving, and walking faithfully for many, many years.  He came to St. Augustine’s Chapel right after retiring and soon moved from “senior” intern to beloved advisor and leader.  He became active in the CCJ after a career at Vanderbilt University where he was a professor at the Law School and the Divinity School, teaching courses such as Ethics and Public Policy and Law and Religion.  Among his many acts of quiet service, Don organized the pharmacy for the Escuela Anne Stevens in Ecuador for many years and he passionately helped launch and grow Larkspur Conservation. Don builds, he shows up, he embodies the exhortation to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.
